1-3

Experience + Reflection = Wisdom

This powerful exercise leverages the "Butterfly Effect" from chaos theory, which suggests that small events can trigger massive, unpredictable outcomes.

For example: A butterfly in Africa lands on a lioness, causing her to sneeze, which scares a herd of zebra into a stampede. This leads to a dust storm, triggering weather imbalances, which grow into a category 5 hurricane devastating Florida.

This may sound extreme, but the same principle could be affecting your life.

Small, seemingly insignificant events in your past, like a missed soccer kick, can ripple through your life, creating lasting anxiety or self-doubt. For instance, a girl who missed a game-winning shot years ago may relive that failure every time she faces a similar pressure situation, even though it happened long ago. Her subconscious doesn’t distinguish between past memories and present experiences, so that old anxiety resurfaces, hindering her performance.

Even one negative event can shape your entire future if the anxiety from it lingers.

But the good news? It's never too late to break free from these effects. These exercises will help clear out the stress, anger, and pain from past experiences, enabling you to forgive and release their grip on your life. Forgiveness isn’t about excusing others—it’s about freeing yourself from their influence.

"Being angry with someone is like taking poison...
and then waiting for the other person to die."

A nice benefit you will typically gain after you have forgiven others, is that you will often notice many
unexpected wide-scale positive changes taking place in your life. You'll soon see just what I mean.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here you will use the Backward8 Exercise for

Clearing Out Any Residual Anxiety Remaining
From The Negative
Experiences
You've Had Throughout Your Life!

.
You may have heard of some health related products on the market that help you to
'cleanse your colon' of the harmful toxins that build up in your colon,
and can even weaken your immune system.

Well, now you are going to learn a simple technique that can essentially
'cleanse your subconscious mind'
of the negative emotional memories from any unpleasant experiences you have had throughout
your life. This procedure shows you how you can reverse the harmful emotional effects from any
negative events you've experienced from your early childhood to the present day.

Soon, you will begin to notice a real improvement in how you feel about yourself, and your life!

DO THIS FIRST:

Make a list of all the negative events or issues in your life that caused stress, fear, anger, pain, frustration, or anxiety.

Be specific and include anything that feels stressful to you—there are no wrong answers!

Start each item with “I” and feel free to use the examples provided or add your own. These examples are meant to jog your memory, even if they don’t directly apply to you.

If you see a blank, fill it in with your own response, if applicable.

If you're not able to come up with at least 100 negative things that you've experienced
during your life, then you're NOT really trying very hard!!

What negative events or issues have I experienced that
made me feel anxious, hurt, or sad?

I feel like I let ________ down when I _______,

I feel so guilty about not ________,

I feel so frustrated that I was not good enough to ________,

I feel so ashamed of myself for being caught ________,

I feel so embarrassed about getting beaten up in front of ________,

I feel so embarrassed about ________ in front of all those people,

I feel hurt after reading these awful comments about me on ________,

I feel ashamed after hearing those people saying ________ about me,

I feel so angry after hearing those bigots shouting _______ about me,

I feel so disappointed and hurt about ________,

I feel so worthless after screwing up this important ________,

I just feel like giving up after _______,

I feel so hurt from being called ________,

I feel so intimidated after being harassed by ________,

I feel so hurt over being rejected by ______,

I still feel some of this remaining stress from ________,

Please add more of your own stressful or traumatic experiences to this list.

Note:

After clearing the anxiety from a negative issue, replace it with an empowering choice statement (a Backward8 Power-Phrase).

Making a clear decision is powerful, which is why this step introduces a positive affirmation right after clearing the negative issue.

This process will help you form a habit of automatically linking a positive thought to any negative situation, so that when something negative happens, a positive thought will instantly replace it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DO THIS SECOND:
Create Your Backward8 Power-Phrases...

Write "Even though" in front of each of your statements, and
add 87654321 after your statements
.

Then, add the following words to the end of your statement:

"I CHOOSE to forgive myself for feeling this way, and I forgive anyone else involved!"

For example:

If your statement was...
"
I feel so hurt from being bullied by _______."

Your new statement would then become:

"Even though I feel so hurt from being bullied by ________,
87654321
I CHOOSE to forgive myself for feeling this way, and I forgive anyone else involved!"

Do that for every issue statement in your list from - above.
Just as I have done for you - below...

You are welcome to modify the positive choice Power-Phrases so they are more applicable
to your own specific needs. Just make sure every statement is positive, personal, and in the present tense
(as though it is already happening now).

Even though I feel like I let ________ down when I _______, 87654321,
I CHOOSE to forgive myself for feeling this way, and I forgive everyone else involved.

Even though I feel so guilty about not ________, 87654321,
I CHOOSE to forgive myself for feeling this way, and I forgive everyone else involved.

Even though I feel so frustrated that I was not good enough to ________, 87654321,
I CHOOSE to forgive myself for feeling this way, and I forgive everyone else involved.

Even though I feel so ashamed of myself for being caught ________, 87654321,
I CHOOSE to forgive myself for feeling this way, and I forgive everyone else involved.

Even though I feel so embarrassed about getting beaten up in front of ________, 87654321,
I CHOOSE to forgive myself for feeling this way, and I forgive everyone else involved.

Even though I feel so embarrassed about ________ in front of all those people, 87654321,
I CHOOSE to forgive myself for feeling this way, and I forgive everyone else involved.

Even though I feel hurt after reading these awful comments about me on ________, 87654321,
I CHOOSE to forgive myself for feeling this way, and I forgive everyone else involved.

Even though I feel ashamed after hearing those people saying ________ about me, 87654321,
I CHOOSE to forgive myself for feeling this way, and I forgive everyone else involved.

Even though I feel so angry after hearing those bigots shouting _______ about me, 87654321,
I CHOOSE to forgive myself for feeling this way, and I forgive everyone else involved.

Even though I feel so disappointed and hurt about ________, 87654321,
I CHOOSE to forgive myself for feeling this way, and I forgive everyone else involved.

Even though I feel so worthless after screwing up this important ________, 87654321,
I CHOOSE to forgive myself for feeling this way, and I forgive everyone else involved.

Even though I just feel like giving up after _______, 87654321,
I CHOOSE to forgive myself for feeling this way, and I forgive everyone else involved.

Even though I feel so hurt from being called ________, 87654321,
I CHOOSE to forgive myself for feeling this way, and I forgive everyone else involved.

Even though I feel so intimidated after being harassed by ________, 87654321,
I CHOOSE to forgive myself for feeling this way, and I forgive everyone else involved.

Even though I feel so hurt over being rejected by ________, 87654321,
I CHOOSE to forgive myself for feeling this way, and I forgive everyone else involved.

Even though I still feel some of this remaining stress from ________, 87654321,
I CHOOSE to forgive myself for feeling this way, and I forgive everyone else involved.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DO THIS THIRD:

Perform Your Backward8 Procedure

Remember, this works the same way as anything else, the more counting repetitions you do,
the better your results will be! So...KEEP COUNTING!

Procedure
Select a statement from your list above, and mentally visualize (imagine) yourself
feeling the stressful intensity that you WOULD feel if you were actually experiencing
that right now, then repeat each of your complete statements as you have written
them out (including counting backward from 8)!
Keep repeating this process for each issue until you no longer feel any intensity from the issue!

You will gain positive results for some issues much faster than you will for other issues.
So, be patient, and your results will come for you.
Backward
8 is a process, NOT an event!
                    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

NOTE...

It’s normal for unexpected thoughts or emotions to surface during these exercises—some may be buried from childhood.

If any negative thoughts or feelings come up, even if unrelated to the current exercise, write them down and clear them as soon as possible. These are the very issues that can hold you back in life.
